Darkness awaits at long last

A chance to delve into the past

Been steaming hot for so long

Almost forgot right from wrong

Too many days where the pounding sun

Melted us like the wicked witch to done

Almost as if we didn’t exist

Just floating around praying for mist

In all the years it never felt quite this way

Where second by second felt like eternity

Days seemed to go on forever

Making us finally crack the word, ‘Never’

Even our dreams were all a mess

Filled with humidity and such distress

Walks outside drowned us to a world of no air

Making one wonder if God was really up there

Temps hit the century mark

Turning us into dogs that bark

So much for the dog days

This felt like a permanent haze

It got up to 114 in my car

No ac made short journeys extra far

Literally turning into an oven

I like summer but this was no fun

Unless you prefer dangerous rays

That cause damage leaving you in a daze

It left us going out of our minds

And me praying for mother nature to be kind

I begged for raindrops the other day

Anything to help us escape this bad play

Take me away to a place that feels real

Instead of one that makes everyone peel

Was there a miracle in sight

We even couldn’t feel ourselves during night

Leaving us dripping wet in a state of panic

That’s what the mercury does when it rises creating manic

Even a hint of rain turned to a classic tease

Was this town a jinx dropping us to our knees

I even began to talk to the man upstairs

Hoping he really could drown our worst fears

Nothing good about a kind of different murderer’s row

One that made you squeamish losing your flow

If it would just return to the norm

I’d move to the attic and set up a dorm

Just once make us believe

When gray skies appeared for a change

Then a sudden cooling took place

Drops falling from the heavens gracing our land

Through the storm

We finally felt alive

Soaking wet slapping high fives

Sometimes wishes do come true

They might take time

But you must believe

And he’ll finally deliver good news

What felt like forever

That cured us all

A year ago on May 21, 1989, we lost a dear friend, brother and family member. Lindzay Richburg was all those things in the time we knew him. The kind of special person who comes around once in this lifetime. Futuristic. Charasmatic. Kool Aid. L’roy Jetsun. Shining Star. Passionate. Pure adrenaline. Innovative. Determined. Swag. Bow Bow. All describe our prodigy who left us too soon a month shy of his 21st birthday.

Though gone, he lives on in spirit. Everyday, he’s watching over us with that Kool Aid grin and effervescent flow that was always the show. Saturday night, we honored his memory the best way we knew how. You know he was there smiling down and laughing cause he wouldn’t have it any other way. Rich Kid. This is for you. And remember. It’s The Joker that’s in control

Poor Harvey Dent it’s taking a toll :laughter:

Try to stop me from tearing Gotham apart

Harvey Dent’s lost his heart

I turned Gotham’s white saint into a circus clown

Now all Commissioner Gordon can do is frown :laughter:

You can’t keep up with my grand schemes

Batman’s worst fears are realized in his dreams

Finally a bad guy who stands for something

And never backs off like the other chicken wings

I’m gonna give them what they want

Let’s see Batman try to stop me what ya got

I won’t kill you cause you’re too much fun

And you won’t kill me because you’re the uncorruptable one

The immovable force meets the immovable object

Leaving Gotham completely wrecked

Has poor Harvey Dent lost his mind

Or was it me that turned him unkind :laughter:

Guess that’s what happens when you lose your love

No wonder he flips a coin for chance of

Now we’re talking a high stakes game

All cause Dent was pushed insane :laughter:

Catch me if you dare

The purple suit you bought it

And poor little Gambill threw a fit

Wanting me dead or alive

When he didn’t know when to hide

The same holds true for this town

Now Gordon and Batman are very confused

It’s not because they had too much booze
