Hard Hits

With apologies to anyone who tuned in last night looking for our first show of the New Year, we will be re-airing Hard Hits tonight due to a glitch with the switchboard at blogtalk radio which threw us for a loop.

The usual topics (NBA, NFL, MLB, etc.) should be covered by myself and my outstanding co-hosts Rob “Kraze” Davis, John “Stat Mastah” Giagnorio, Jeff “Mindbrain” Bashlor, Nate Sousa and possibly good buddy Brian Sanborn

Can’t catch it live? Please check out our show archive or any previous show from 2007 down below:

Randy Moss was just one of many topics discussed during the final 2007 Hard Hits show to end the year.

Last night was our final show of 2007. As usual, much was covered throughout including the Rangers’ 4-3 overtime home win over the Canadiens.

I was later joined by co-hosts Rob “Kraze” Davis, Jeff Bashlor and good buddy Brian Sanborn as we got into the final week of the NFL discussing our two Bills’ fans favorite topic, the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.

Do the Giants have a chance next week in Tampa Bay? Find out this and what our panel sees taking place in the 2008 NFL playoffs as the AFC and NFC first round gets underway next weekend.

We also get into the NBA and discuss the dreadful Knicks and St. John’s as I continue my search for a watchable NYC team. Plus Nate Sousa joins us from California and talks about the surprising Lakers as well as league surprises Portland and Atlanta.

Preview of the Outdoor Classic between Pens and Sabres at Ralph Wilson Stadium on New Year’s Day 1 ET on NBC. Plus New Year’s resolutions, Dan da Man and random other stuff.

With the Patriots coming back to beat the Giants Saturday night to successfully finish with a perfect 16-0 mark and become the first NFL team since the 1972 Miami Dolphins to go undefeated in the regular season, we’ll be hosting a special final show of 2007 later tonight after we get back from Habs-Rangers at the Garden.

It should be another fun filled action packed show where we cover a variety of topics as always. :D

A classic shot of Dominique Wilkins during a slam dunk contest. One of many topics discussed on last night's show.

Last night, we hosted a special Hard Hits Christmas Eve show covering all boundaries.

Here’s some of what took place:

Breakdown of the Giants playoff clinching win over the Bills. JPG celebrates the firing of Scott Skiles. Plus I unveil a surprise. JPG freestyles. Who should get what for Christmas? Favorite Christmas movies? Justin makes a cameo as the guys talk puck. A Dan da Man Christmas. Plus some NBA as we take a trip down memory lane and discusses one of the league’s greatest players, Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins.

The beautiful ballpark at St. George where the Staten Island Yankees play.

It’s been a while since our last Hard Hits show. Over a month in fact before Thanksgiving where a couple of real turkeys were continuing to live in an utter state of denial at Seventh Avenue and 33rd.

More about that probably later tonight along with a variety of topics which could range from the Mitchell Report to Week 18 of the NFL, why the local city college and pro hoop teams stink and also why Jaromir Jagr is getting on my last nerve.

But you have to figure it will be the usual chaos with our show cause there are no boundaries and I don’t boss my co-hosts around ordering them to stick to topic like some people.

  • So, there could be some random musings from myself and our other participants which hopefully shall include Rob Davis (Kraze), John Giagnorio (JPG AKA da Stat Mastah) and Jeff Bashlor (Mecca’s Mind Brains)
  • Will your lyrical host wax poetic? Will we have any crazy calls like with Jeff’s show recently? You never know. Just expect it to be totally off the wall.

Who will come out victorious tonight? Todd Helton and the Rockies or NL Cy Young frontrunner Jake Peavy's Padres?

Before the first pitch of tonight’s big play-in game between the Rockies and Padres, we broke down the historic Mets collapse. What went so wrong for the Mets down the stretch? Why did it all fall apart?

Anti ESPN host Brian Sanborn (Sambeze) joined us to discuss this and also preview tonight’s game which can be seen on TBS.

We also handed out our regular season awards (MVP, Cy, ROY).

Greg Oden's probable season-ending knee surgery were one of many topics discussed on last nite's Hard Hits by show host Derek Felix and co-hosts JPG, Sambone and Nas.

Last night’s show covered a variety of topics including the Yanks’ chase of the wildcard along with discussion of A-Rod’s amazing season as co-host John Giagnorio (JPG) joined myself for the first hour gutting it out.

Also discussed was JPG’s much anticipated 22nd birthday tomorrow as well as his return to Stanford. Will he be returning to Broadway in the foreseeable future?

As the two talk more baseball, close buddy and The Anti E$PN Show host Brian Sanborn (Sambone) called in to voice his displeasure at target Bill Belichick and ESPN as well as ponder if the Bills’ luck will ever change.

Greg Oden’s probable season-ending knee surgery was also discussed by the trio and the impact it could have on Portland.

They were also joined by Nate’s Gridiron Talk host Nate Sousa (Nas) who quickly gave JPG some friendly advice for his final day of work before he prepares to return to school.

Derek ponders who will win NL MVP as JPG shoots each choice down in a stat game.

Also covered was Roger Federer, Justine Henin plus more NL MVP breakdown and the first edition of Giants rehab.

Former Stetson star and current Staten Island Yankee third baseman Braedyn Pruitt joined Hard Hits last night.

Earlier this morning, we were delighted to have Staten Island Yankee third baseman Braedyn Pruitt join us for a special edition of Hard Hits.

Selected out of Stetson University, the 14th round pick finished second in the NY-Penn League in hitting batting .347 with four home runs and 32 RBI’s in 51 games mostly as the team’s cleanup hitter.

The 22 year-old out of West Palm Beach, Florida came on to discuss the Bombers’ 8-4 Game 1 defeat to archrival Brooklyn last night at home and what they’ll need to do to turn the tide when the three-game first round series shifts to the other side of the Verrazano Bridge later tonight.

He also talked about his first pro season as well as other team oriented stuff, etc.

Please be sure to go to our host page over at Blogtalk Radio and check out the archive:
