So, I was downstairs earlier watching the tail end of a good early 1980′s movie called Summer Lovers starring a young and beautiful Daryl Hannah along with Peter Gallagher and the vivacious Valerie Quennessen, who has been gone too long.
It’s a cute movie about an American college couple who spend the summer in Greece and meet Valerie’s French character Lina, who lives there. They all fall in love and do everything together. Well, towards the end, Lina disappears and Michael and Cathy are sad that she’s gone and decide to return home. But just as they’re about to board the plane, guess who comes on a motorcycle at the last minute convincing them to stay.
It’s just a really nice movie with a feel good ending. Funny enough, the hit Chicago song “Hard For Me To Say I’m Sorry/Get Away” played during the final dramatic scene which shows them happy as can be jumping off a cliff into the water. Good times!
Anyway, I always liked this song. So, I figured I’d feature a great live version by Chicago which was the same year (1982) as the movie.
Here’s two bonus versions including a different one by AZ featuring outstanding Chicago lead singer Peter Cetera.
