Quiet Before The Storm

This was kinda inspired by two things:
1.The windy weather conditions here from the Nor’easter.
2.The idiocy of a few Philadelphians during two sporting events.
As you might know, the World Series made history by suspending play during the sixth inning in Game Five with the Phillies hoping to win their first championship in 27 years tied up at two with the Rays. The game depending on the rainy forecast is supposed to pickup later tonight from that inning on. But will it and will the delay turn the Series completely around? Only the man upstairs knows.
“Quiet Before The Storm”
by Derek Felix AKA D Flex
It was so peaceful outside
A calm kinda presence in the air
Who knew something was hiding
And floating along ever so near
Approaching at an easy going rate
As the sun suddenly was covered in clouds
Almost as if it were holding a Philly baseball fan’s fate
That’s what they get for being such clowns
If only these lost souls didn’t toss objects on the ice
Maybe they wouldn’t feel God’s sudden wrath
Letting their ball team finally win which would’ve been nice
Instead of stuping to tossing packets in opposing family’s paths
No wonder the sun closed up for good
Suddenly darkening skies and making you sigh
Mother nature definitely was in a foul mood
To the Filthydelphians who acted foolish my oh my
You messed with mother nature and delayed a celebration
One which suddenly remains tied and up in the air
As Game Five lingers on will it really commence in jubilation
Or will mother nature’s tease become something they’ll fear
All this on a day which began so peacefully with much hope
Suddenly going from awfully quiet before the storm
If they’d acted civil they wouldn’t have to wash their mouths out with soap
Now instead the sun went away as quiet hit before the storm
Making one realize how wildly unpredictable this place can be
Just when you think you got it all figured out you don’t know jack
As the heavens above laugh out loud haha and slowly unlock the key
Lurking around and soon speaking through the sky throwing you off track
This is how it really becomes in this weird time
A sudden eerie quiet before the storm
Throwing everything you figured way off line
Where just like that nothing’s ever the norm
This is their sin for being unkind and unfaithful
It’s what lengthens their nervousness in vain
Maybe if they had more respect God wouldn’t be so hateful
Instead there’s a doubt like this storm which can create pain
Giving fair warning to those main culprits who dared the great man above
Making its strong presence known by sending rain and chills in the air
Unlike the usual feeling you get on those great days with plenty of love
Never take it for granted as it can strike at any moment if you so dare
That’s the way it goes on this now forever long Philly night
One which could make them think of the quiet before the storm
Especially if their team doesn’t close the deal falling victim to God’s eternal light
If there’s a lesson to be learned it’s never doubt the quiet before the storm
