It’s the start of the NFL season later tonight as the Giants raise their Super Bowl banner versus the NFC East rival Redskins. So, why am I not too excited about this? I guess cause it still feels weird for the NFL to be beginning on a Thursday night. To me, football doesn’t really start until Sunday.

Try telling that to a league which has sold itself to the devil allowing all sorts of musicians to perform to kickoff seasons. Sorry. But I don’t get excited for Usher, Britney or Christina Aguilera or whoever else performs because while talented at their own professions, they’ve got nothing to do with football. Someone forgot to tell the No Fun League that simple is better. So, next time you see your favorite player score an exciting touchdown and get flagged for an emphatic celebration, just remember it’s perfectly okay as long as they attract celebrities to kickoff another season.
